Denys grown up in a family of musicians, at twelve, he got his first guitar, at seventeen his first group" les shows"with his brother Richard.We are in the mid-sixties, he's passioned for the rebirth of the blues in England (The Animals, J.Mayall, E.Clapton...) and the black american music (J.Hendrix, Stax, Tamla Motown).He studied in a fammous art school in Paris.After a few period member of "the Sharks" and a concert at the 68's O.W.G. in Grenoble France (the first set of Steve Winwood's group"Traffic"concert).He used to know the "Trust" adventure,and the "Mat 3" trio experience,without forget many "guests" with "Calcium" side of S.Vilar and Zouzou.The last group was "Torpedo" in early 80's.

Denys and Julien Clerc

70/71 important years in Denys's career, one of his great early studio's memories: the song of Lani Hall with M.Colombier on the "Wings" album, and the beginning of a long work with Julien Clerc which he followed on tour around the world .In 1974 the recordings of "Terre de France" at the "Métairie" with the stage group and the following year, "n°7" stand high moments for him.This is the period Denys met
Jean claude Vannier,which he worked with for S.Gainsbourg and J.Birkin.
1977.it's "Le Théatre de la ville"with Michel Jonasz, and the beginning of a great activity in the Gabriel Yared crew ."Des moments de grace"as he describes the recordings of "Guigui","les années 80 commencent"or "Gin tonic"and "Music saoule"with françoise hardy. Cabrel and Denys

80's/90's :Davout, Ferber, la grande armée, Gang, plus 30, face B ...Denys used to know great emotions in those "sound temples" in which he shared the live fever with his crew members,he has been sollicited by many artists.In compagny of Paul Scemama he produced his first album "Crystal hotel".
1986 with "Sarbacanne" begins a long career as sideman of Francis Cabrel, beautiful adventure on stage and records.
Parallely he worked for "M.B.school"on the Starmania's english version "Tycoon",especialy on the title "Only the very best" by Peter Kingberry.
"Dion chante Plamondon"and Michel Berger/F.Gall's "Double je".
In 1993 ,he took place in France Gall's "Bercy concert" and the following tour,
1994 that's "Samedi soir sur la terre"and the album "CrapouLable" which Denys prepared with G.Kawczynski and other friends.To note the reprise of Red river blues in duo with F.Cabrel the prequel of other projects around a both passion.
His travels in Montreal to records with Roch Voisine, Robert Charlebois, Jeff Smallwood, Patrick Norman lets him great memories, as his participation to Robert Miles's "23 AM". Denys loves to talk about this rejuvenating "Rock and roll show" the 50's rock revisited with F.Cabrel and Dick"The legend"Rivers,it was very cool.

The 2000 :As the director of parisian jazz festival J.F.Foucauld's wishes, Denys gaves a single concert with his quintet Paganotti,E.Seva, B.Lajudie and spring few after the "Autour du blues" adventure under the impulsion of the producer Eric Basset and Michael Jones and Patrick Verbeke as co-leaders. He reunited a crew where blues guitar players are at honour.J.J.Goldman, Rivers, P.Personne are associed; which gave a double cd in 2001,other concerts, and recordings, followed.
The last release had been realised at the New Morning in 2007 for the 25 years of the club, in compagny of Larry Carlton and Robben Ford .It's a Happyness for Denys to disinter"Jewels" of the blues repertoir,but the Tamla too,and make them becoming current.To note his other realisations for Valerie Cicco "Quelle belle ville", " P.Verbeke "Echos d'Acadie", Soldat Louis"Itinéraires",of courses he doesn't forget all those he can't motion here, artists, musicians, ingeneers,all the meetings and places,studios etc...where so many titles born, he knows that many of them got a beautiful destiny, and can also feel a little bit of proud when he listens the Albert Lee and Mark Knopfler "Disappering nightly" as he knows he is played on the original version of Spencer Bohren recorded at F.Cabrel's studio in Astaffort.
